The mission of Kids Runway for Research is to raise awareness and support for the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders while providing childhood cancer survivors the opportunity to “shine”.
Kids Runway for Research is a non-profit organization with 501c3 status held by the Delaware Community Foundation. The event is a fun-filled fashion show presenting clothing from local boutiques and modeled by pediatric cancer survivors. The show is held every September in conjunction with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The majority of the proceeds from the show go directly to Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders specifically to their childhood cancer research program. A percentage of the proceeds each year goes to a local charity who provides supportive services to children with cancer and their families.
This year Kids Runway for Research donated $15,000 to the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and $2,500 to Delaware Dreams, Inc. (private foundation who helps families of critically ill children). The above photo is from our check presentation at Nemours on January 17, 2014.
